Description
An original 1st press of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label. Matrix 2/1. Please note the labels make NO mention of 'Her Majesty' as found on all later copies. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover. Also included is the original Patent No. white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In truly marvellous condition and certainly one of the nicest I've ever seen. Under close inspection we could only make out one very light mark - of absolutely no consequence whatsoever. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I shouldn't need to remind anyone that a 1st press of Abbey Road this well preserved sounds out of this world. Top-level resolution and amazing transparency - a level unobtainable by any other pressing. Even the quieter tracks on side 2 play clean and i mean CLEAN! Interference is practically non-existent. We couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of places [literally] the whole way through. This is a final upgrade for sure....
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers if only every Beatles 60's cover looked quite this good! Shiny like new practically..it is astonishingly well preserved. Front and back are bordering on faultless. Only the very very lightest handling signs - and you have to look closely to even see them! A couple of tiny creases, but nothing else worthy of note. Edge wear is practically non-existent and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies very nice and flat. A real one-off in my opinion...
Inner (Ex-) Minor ageing. But no splits.
