Description

An original 1st issue of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label from Winter 1969. Matrix 2/1. Stampers 1-MHM/4-OLR. The 2/1 matrix is identical to the 1st press, but please note this is a slightly later pressing mentioning 'Her Majesty'. I would estimate this pressing dates from winter '69 towards the end of its run at no. 1 [17 weeks in all!] The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover with the misaligned logo on the rear. Also included is the original white Apple inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In excellent condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Beautiful purity even on those low-key tracks on side 2. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Interference is, thankfully, practically non-existent. All we could detect was a couple of light crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It really is a very impressive rendition..and let's not forget a 3-4 months from the original masters!
Cover (Ex) Has been well cared for down the years with a lovely shiny front and back. There's very little creasing on the front just an indentation mark in the bottom-right. The rear is practically immaculate. Edge wear is light and the spine is fully intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies nice and flat. A truly superb misaligned specimen.
Inner (Ex-) Touch of light ageing. No splits.
