Description

An original 1st press of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label. Matrix 2/1. Stampers 1-GM/4-OH. Please note the labels make NO mention of 'Her Majesty' as found on all later copies. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover. Also included is a replica black inner sleeve. 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I shouldn't need to remind anyone that a 1st press of Abbey Road well preserved sounds 'out of this world'. Top-level resolution and transparency - a level unobtainable on any other pressing. Even the quieter tracks on side 2 play CLEAN! Interference is, thankfully, practically non-existent. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments.
Cover (Vg+) Has been looked after down the years. Nice shiny front with a few creases over toward the opening. The rear fares better with just a couple of creases down in the bottom left corner. Edge wear is light and the text on the spine is mostly intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) No side splits. It is a replica remember though!
