Description

An original 1st press of AR on the UK Apple label in 1969. Matrix 2/1 - 1st cut. Please note labels are consistent with 1st press and DO NOT mention 'her majesty' on side 2. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original slim spine cover. We also have the original black Apple inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very superficial light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across perfect clarity. A truly excellent example of this highly sought after 1st issue. Folk insist on the early copies because they were pressed heavy - and the audio contained within is truly a marvel. A lovely clean player into those lower-key tracks like 'Here Comes the Sun' & 'Because'. Hear these tracks on a clean 1st pressing and you'll soon find out what all the fuss is about! Even the super fussy tracks YNGMYM and Sun King played pretty clean - not perfect but way better than what tends to typically surface. The only vague issues I could detect were a few static rustles in 'Come Together' [No big deal at all]. A couple of minor ticks in 'Darling' & couple of clicks and crackles late on in 'She's So Heavy'. The odd crackle here and there in Golden Slumbers. This really is a terrific 'all rounder' - it plays at a high standard...consistently. If AR is your bag and you're looking for super audio.. it would be difficult to turn your nose up at this one. Love it! Please note there's one signature on the side 2 label.
Cover (Ex+) Holy Moses...this cover is an absolute stunner! Quite possibly the best looking one I've ever witnessed. Beautifully flat and shiny - I can barely make out a single crease [super unusual]. There's not even any record impression showing - again....that's a bit of a one-off. Looking extremely smart in all  areas. Edge wear is practically non-existent. The openings are razor sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Even the corners are still pointy! FINAL UPGRADE easy peasy.
Inner (Vg) A split on the bottom is taped up. There's a one inch side split too.
