Description

An original 1st mono press of Pepper on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 2-ROA/4-GLL. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover with exposed flipbacks. There's the original cut-outs too, Sorry, no original inner sleeve. THIS is an out-and-out AUDIO AUDIO AUDIO copy<<<<
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) Is in lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can make out a couple of light marks per side - seemingly nothing heavy or that appears in the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with slight deviation in a couple of spots. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Best thing about this copy is the clean feed... rarely do you get proper consistent clean feed with Pepper. But this copy has it. And that means you're gonna get to witness that wonderful original mono audio pretty much unhindered. Even the mega fussy lowkey tracks play clean. Even SLH which rarely plays well on ANY copy plays clean here. A couple of crackles in a couple of spots - but much better than is typically dished out. The odd occasional minor static crackle in WI64. Very impressive really...WYWY is just dreamy. I think you can't REALLY say you've heard WYWY unless you've heard it on a clean playing mono 1st. Those lolloping base notes are fantastic - the trippy background. Wowzer. Run into ADITL is fussy - fully clean.....the sign of a sparingly played copy. Not many copies can deliver that. Don't miss out. Audio nirvana.  NAME written atop the side 2 label.
Cover (Vg+) For the vintage - superb. A great looking cover flat with just a couple of minor thumbnails front and back. Excellent colour retention. The interior is looking superb and untouched. Edge wear is minor mostly with slight one inch wear-through at the foot of the right panel [no biggy]. Firm openings. Spine is look a bit grubby - this is the only let down really. The text is 60% legible. The word 'Lonely' is quite worn. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Cut-outs (Ex-) No issues.
