Description

THE BEATLES, WHITE ALBUM 1968 PMC 7067/8, NUMBERED TOP OPENER VG/VG+. Serial Number: 0155312. NO "An EMI Recording" on any of the labels. Dark green apples. Complete with original black inners, lyric poster and 4 pictures. Bought in the first week of sales as evidenced by writing on inside of cover. Please see below for detail description of the condition
Sleeve: Very Good
Original gatefold sleeve looks great. The front and rear are very white overall with only slight yellowing to the top of the front cover. The front displays very few blemishes, the embossed ‘THE BEATLES’ is very clean and prominent and the serial number is distinct. The inside is remarkably clean, without yellowing, and with very few blemishes. However, a name, and "November 1968" is written in biro on the inside, clearly demonstrating the authenticity of the age of this record. The rear is very clean, with only a slight tear at the top of the rear. The laminate on the spine has split and as a result it is slightly dirty. Despite this, ‘The Beatles Stereo PCS 7067-8 Mono 7067-8’ text can still be read..
Inners: Excellent
Comes complete. Inner sleeves are original black apple versions. Four photographs are mint. The poster comes without any rips or tears but it does have an extra crease. Also comes with additional new, anti-static inner sleeves which the discs are stored in.
Disks: VG+
Side 1/2, No 'An EMI Recording’, With ‘Sold in U.K...... ’. Matrix no. YEX 709-1 & 710-1. Mother Stampers: 5-LD, 3-TH. Side 3/4, No ‘An EMI Recording’, With  ‘Sold in U.K......’.  Matrix no. YEX 711-1 & 712-1. Mother Stampers: 2-PH, 4-PP.
I will describe the audio on each side separately.
Side 1 :
All tracks play with excellent clarity, without any skips or jumps and minimal background crackle.
Side 2:
Martha my dear has some groove wear and as such plays with a crackle and a pop here and there. I'm so tired has a single jump near the end of the track and a little bit of crackle at the start. Rocky Raccoon has some slight crackle at the start but improves as it continues. The remainder of the tracks play excellently, without any skips or jumps and with minimal background crackle. Obviously at some point in its life the start of side 2 was played with a very poor stylus. Still an enjoyable listen, though.
Side 3:
There are 6 quiet clicks at the start of Long Long Long caused by a small scratch. All other tracks play with excellent clarity, without skips and jumps and with minimal background crackle.
Side 4:
Savoy Truffle has a jump at the very end of the track which really doesn't affect the play. All other tracks play with excellent clarity, without skips or jumps and with minimal background noise.
I have graded VG+ as an average over all sides and tracks. Other than the defects which I have stated it really is a great record to listen to. Very enjoyable.
This is a really authentic white album, a true collectors item. Will be sad to see this one go.
Will be posted in a polythene outer sleeve within a padded vinyl record mailer.
