The Beatles WHITE ALBUM STEREO PCS 7067/8
Top Loader, No. 0540536 with very rare CROSSOVER LABELS on sides 3/4
COMPLETE with Black Inners/Poster/Photos in EXCELLENT condition overall!
Sides 1 & 2: YEX 709-1 and 710/1
Excellent+ clean labels and vinyl. Looks superb with minor surface scratches on the vinyl and minimal spindle markings on the labels.
Playback is virtually background noise free. A great stereo sounding LP!
Sides 3 & 4: YEX 711/2 and 712/2
Excellent labels and vinyl once more. Holding each side to the light shows both labels and vinyl clean and relatively unmarked.
There may be just a few more marks on this record than sides 1 and 2. Playback is excellent with just very occasional background clicking.
What is UNUSUAL and RARE about sides 3 and 4 in a first pressing TOP LOADING White Album are the different labels and ‘2’ matrices. Side 3 has the standard first pressing label with ‘Sold In UK…..’ across the top.
Side 4 has a different font, layout and NO sold in UK statement. This label design was used briefly on the side opening records pressed later in 1969.
Records with crossover labels on each side are very rare anyway on WHITE ALBUMS they are even more so! It is also very rare to find ‘2’ matrices on both sides, especially side 3!
What’s more the condition of this White Album is above average for its age.
Black Inners in excellent condition. Minor fraying at the die cut edges and some wear down the sides
The poster/lyric sheet has generally been kept in its folds but does have a few small rips along the folds, but no writing or marks. Very good + with a few blemishes. .
The four portrait photos are in excellent shape. Just very minor wear at some edges of the photos.
The gatefold cover is a genuine stereo one (with ‘stereo’ on the back top right hand corner) numbered 0540536 on the front. The spine is strong and proud with just some very minor laminate peeling over the years. It does have the usual aging blemishes. A few bumps in the laminate, ringwear, some corner wear and discolouration, but it is very clean on the inside and overall is an excellent example.
