Description
Hello and welcome to Recovery With Vinyl. For sale is The Beatles ‘White Album’ 045 l4116 Stereo First Press from 1968. A top loader This LP is presented with both the full photograph and poster set but unfortunately is missing the black inners. This Lp set contains Disk 1 which is the initial press together with disc 2 which is the replacement for the first press containing the EMI wording on the label. Stereo was becoming vogue at this time with a number of White Albums obtaining a mixture of different discs or mono sleeve with stereo discs. Often this was carried out by the printers if they had more of one type than the other. Having investigated this further it seems that it was often noticed that there would be two different discs within the same package.

Vinyl Condition: VG+ some small marks on all discs which do not affect playback or sound quality. There are a small number of hairlines(shown in picture) on Disc1 and a couple on Disc2 although none of these effect sound performance and no distortion.
Cover Condition: VG. this cover, whilst retaining its shape and overall colour, does have some imperfections. Most notably (please see pictures) there is some rubbing on bottom corners, spine wear with also some ring wear visible on front and back. There is also some discolouration marks on both the front and back but does not overtly effect the appearance. Overall there is no splits or tears which seem to be quite prevalent for early presses hence why I have graded this VG
Inserts: Photos are present and in VG+or bordering EX. Poster is also present and would grade this VG given there is wear on the folds, a little discolouration and a small tear.
Pressing identifiers: As mentioned earlier this album contains one disc of the initial run and the second disc from the replacement press. The replacement press was quickly bought into circulation due to the missing EMI credit on the left side of label. This was corrected for the second run. This is shown in the photos. Overall a nice collectible for those seeking out Beatles original vinyl. Despite its imprerctions it plays well and the sound quality is very good. If I can find some black inners I will be more than happy to add just to provide a ‘fully loaded’ copy.
