This auction is for an original pressing (only 400 made) of The Microphones: Little Bird Flies Into A Big Black Cloud on St Ives Records 2002
This item includes the original insert and sleeve, vinyl record and hand painted jacket.
Very rare
Issued in unique, hand-painted sleeves. "Little Bird Flies Into A Big Black Cloud" appears to be silkscreened or otherwise printed on. The featured image is painted in a black wash on both the front and back.
Mine features a person head first into a house, with the legs sticking up
The jacket shows some wear, including imperfect corners and some discoloration from age.
( Since these sleeves are hand made they probably weren't in perfect condition to begin with) please see pictures.
Vinyl was never played
"Little Bird Flies Into A Big Black Cloud" (IVES 3), the sonic version of an even more limited edition story booklet by the same name. It features Phil Elvrum alone on vocals and organ -- there are 18 untitled tracks. According to the liner notes, "the recordings on this record were made on February 2nd, 2002 (02/02/02!) at 2 in the afternoon until about 2:40 in the afternoon, pretty much straight through, at Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, Wash."
