Description
COC69100 an original 1st pressing on the UK Rolling Stone label from 1972. Matrix A1/B1/C1/D1. The double LP comes housed in its original 'box' gatefold manufactured by Shorewood Packing. Also included are the original thick card inners [with square corners].
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) Has clearly only seen moderate use and retains much of their original shine. Under close inspection I can see that most sides are free from markings except for side 4 which has a couple of light marks [none of which are that substantial]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of caveats[see detailed breakdown below]. Intros and inbetweens are predominantly quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity and minimal interference. It's worth noting that these original copies have far better audio quality than on later reissues. Resolution is excellent and low level detail absolutely top notch.
Side 1 - Plays solid Ex, with the exception of the outro in the last track where a few low-level crackles are just audible in the high-end. Side 2 - Solid Ex. Side 3 - Solid Ex. Side 4 - Vg+. Plays close to the quality of the other sides except in tracks two and three where a few low-level crackles creep in. By no means a bad player - just not great on these tracks.
Cover (Vg+) The 40 year old cover is holding up very nicely indeed and has obviously been well cared for. The gatefold is still totally intact and retains its original 'box' dimensions. There is some light ageing apparent and wear on the spine, and one or two light marks, but in most other respects this cover has survived the years very well indeed.
Inners (Ex) No splits, no markings, and retains good rigidity.
