Description

An original 1st press of The Stones 2nd Album on UK Decca from 1964. Matrix 2A/2A. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original James Upton printed cover with the now infamous 'Blind Man' text still on the rear. Relatively soon after 1st issue the offending words were covered up by a pasted over rear. This copy is the 1st issue before the cover-up operation began! Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is light and infrequent. All we could detect was a touch of light static in a couple of the tracks. Certainly nothing even close to being invasive, but it is just audible here and there. Overall playback is of a very high standard for this very sought after early STONES CLASSIC.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. These early covers are a real bugger to find in top condition due to their relative fragility. This copy has survived in well above average condition. A lovely shiny front which has nearly entirely avoided the usual laminate lift and fading. The rear whilst not free of ageing has largely avoided the worst of it. Edge wear is relatively light although it has sustained a small knock in the middle at the bottom edge. The text on the spine is still all legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies perfectly flat. 
Inner (Ex-) Just a bit of light ageing around the extremities. And no splits.
