This three-title VINYL COLLECTOR'S SET is Autographed and Numbered 1 through 499. The set includes THE SONG OF CRAZY HORSE, which was recorded in New Zealand in 1973, and won New Zealand's R.A.T.A. (Recorded Arts Talent Award) as New Zealand's Album of the year for 1974. The feature track, encompassing one entire side of the album, is an eighteen-and-a-half-minute tribute to the life of the Oglala Lakota Chief Crazy Horse and tells of the horrific treatment he and his people were subjected too during his lifetime. Side 2 has seven shorter songs still typical of the J.D. Blackfoot commitment of telling a story.
THE ULTIMATE PROPHECY, recorded in 1970, this album features a five-song opus linking all five songs together as a non-stop story of Life, Death, and Rebirth, and is one complete side of the album. It has become a cult classic and is still touted as a one-of-a-kind psyche album must have for serious collectors. Side 2 features five rock and country rock songs.
LIVE IN ST. LOUIS - JULY 16TH, 1982 was recorded at the Kiel Opera House to a sold-out audience of J.D. Blackfoot faithfuls. The album features live versions of both THE SONG of CRAZY HORSE and THE ULTIMATE PROPHECY, as well as nine other cuts in this DOUBLE ALBUM. The Live In St. Louis album has been touted as one of the best live recordings ever captured and produced.
Although the "J.D. Blackfoot" has always been from Columbus, Ohio, it was the strength of these three albums that caused "J.D. Blackfoot" to be inducted into the St. Louis Classic Rock Hall of Fame in 2016. The induction was in the category titled "Outside Influences", which celebrates artists that are not from St. Louis, yet had a major impact on St. Louis's Rock-N-Roll music history. "The J.D. Blackfoot Band" was also inducted into the St. Louis Classic Rock Hall of Fame in 2025.
This three title vinyl album set is currently selling numbers above #238, which only leaves 261 numbers remaining for sale, as of July 15th, 2026.
