Description
This is a drawing (by Stephen Rosenstock or Rosenstoch) depicting the Velvetones doo wop group. I'm unsure of the vintage except to say that I've personally had it in storage with record collections I bought in the 70s and 80s, so it's at least that old. I'm unclear about its origin but suspect that it was probably done as a promo sheet for "The Glory of Love" release. It has tack marks in the corners showing that it was pinned up on a wall or something. A lot of my record collection materials came from music distributors. But as I said, I actually have no idea of the origin.
The item appears to be an original drawing rather than just a print. If you run a finger over the thickly-penned parts, you can feel the texture there. However, it's still possible that this is a print because the paper itself is thick enough to provide some textured feel.
Condition is as follows: There is a small tear on the arm of the center group member. There is a tiny hole on the right side sleeve of the far right side group member. There is some wear and tear on the edges, including small creases and tack marks, along with little tears where tacks were removed and a small tear right below the beginning of the song title. The signature appears to have been written in really light blue pen and then gone over with some darker, thicker pen or pencil. (Please see extra pictures above for details).
