Thelonius Monk - Monk LP
Prestige 7053. Yellow Black Deep Groove 446 W. 50th Street label. Mono. USA 1956.
No inner sleeve.
The FIRST cover, before the later Warhol cover.
Graded cover/record F/VG
Taped along spine, opening and bottom. Left open at top. Tape residue at left part of front.
Clear tape at part of front/back.br> Clean labels and lots of very light surface marks on vinyl.
It plays great mostly but there are some light occasional background noise and ticks.
Some a bit louder at beginning of A2. B side plays great.
Original first issue of this LP in the 12 inch format, with A side Quintet from 1954 with
Thelonius Monk on piano, Frank Foster on tenor sax, Ray Copeland on trumpet,
Curly Russel on bass and Art Blakey on drums.
B side Quintet from 1953 with Thelonius Monk on piano, Sonny Rollins on tenor sax,
Julius Watkins on french horn,Percy Heath on bass and Willie Jones on drums.
