HERE WE HAVE A MASSIVELY RARE and possibly unique!!! UK CHARISMA (CAS 1027) 2 SINGLE SIDED LP WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING OF VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR'S TREMENDOUS "H To He Who Am The Only One" LP
I HAVE DONE QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH ON THIS PRESSING AND AS FAR AS I CAN ASCERTAIN A UK 2 SINGLE SIDED LP TEST PRESSING OF THIS ALBUM IS UNKNOWN!!!! GERMAN AND JAPANESE ONES ARE KNOWN TO EXIST BUT A UK ONE I CAN FIND NO EVIDENCE OF!!! (Of course I may be wrong and any further information would be appreciated)
THE TWO LPS ARE HOUSED IN A SINGLE PLAIN WHITE SLEEVE WITH SOME STICKERS AND ANNOTATIONS (see pics)
THE FRONT HAS A WHITE STICKER MARKED "VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR" WITH HAND WRITTEN NOTATION: "SNTF - 5016"
THE BACK HAS 4 STICKERS COVERING UP WHAT APPEARS TO READ "DOO-WOP" AND THESE ARE MARKED IN PENCIL: "E-SMAS 1-651-1" and "SUE/PETE"

THE VINYLS HAVE THE MATRIX NUMBERS:
Record One: CAS 1027 A-1U (side one, playing side) , LPFB 2 (side two, blank side)
Record Two: CAS 1027 B-1U (side one, playing side) , LPFB 2 (side two, blank side)
AND THE MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 1/G and 1/G

UNFORTUNATELY BOTH OF THE LPS ARE PRACTICALLY UNPLAYABLE AS THEY HAVE BEEN STORED INSIDE THE WHITE SLEEVE WITH NO INNER SLEEVES AND HAVE SERIOUSLY RUBBED AGAINST ONE ANOTHER OVER THE PAST 38 YEARS. (they are now housed in 2 new inners)
I PLAYED THROUGH "KILLER" FOR A TEST AND IT PLAYS, AS I EXPECTED, WITH SERIOUS SURFACE NOISE AND CRACKLE AND HAS THE THE SKIP AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CENTRAL INSTRUMENTAL PASSAGE WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN SORTED OUT FOR THE COMMERCIAL RELEASE BUT IS STILL PRESENT ON MANY A-1U FIRST ISSUES!!
I DID NOT PLAY ANY MORE OF THE LP AS QUITE FRANKLY I FEARED DAMAGE TO MY STYLUS
THIS RARE SET IS THEREFORE NOT OFFERED AS A PLAYING COPY BUT RATHER AN EXTREMELY RARE (POSSIBLY UNIQUE!!!) COLLECTORS PIECE!!!!!!
I AM STARTING THE BIDDING AT A VERY LOW PRICE AS I AM UNSURE OF THE VALUE OF THIS ITEM IN THIS CONDITION (and I am sure it will find its own level)
BUT IF IT IS AS UNIQUE AS I THINK IT MAY BE, THEN TO ANY VAN DER GRAAF COMPLETIST IT STILL HAS IMMEASURABLE WORTH!!!! AS I DON'T THINK YOU WILL EVER FIND ANOTHER ONE!!
