16 Inch, One Sided, Black Lacquer Acetate Disc Containing 10 Cuts
Introductions for V-Discs – no music
6 takes of George Simon introducing the winners of the Metronome Poll: Nat King Cole, Buddy Rich, Charlie Savers, Johnny Hodges, Coleman Hawkins, etc and the songs “Sweet Lorraine” vocal Frank Sinatra & “Nat Meets June” vocal Nat King Cole, June Christy. There are a couple of fluffed intros, including George Simon stopping and saying “I heard the toilet flushing someplace .. who was that?”. On one of the takes he describes Frank Sinatra as “a young kid who happened to drop into the studio”
2 takes of Vince Cane (recording engineer for V-Disc) introduces “The Maid With The Flaccid Hair” by Artie Shaw
1 take of Sgt. Tony Janek for V-Disc introduces Marie Green “Don’t Ever Let Me Go”
There is also a few seconds of a goofy reading of a story “Santa Claus And The Mouse”
