Here we have the very first official release by the BEATLES under the PARLOPHONE  label. This was FIRST recorded  with Ringo on drums, on the 4th of September 1962. It was a week later, when attempting another recording, Ringo was left to give the maracas a shake on "PS I Love You" and tambourine on "Love Me Do." The recordings with Ringo are therefore identified by the -1N/-1N matrix, whilst the Andy White recording has the suffix of -2N/-2N. It is strange, however, EMI decided to relese the Ringo version before the re-worked (and so called improved..?)  Andy White version....couldn't have been much of an improvement afterall.

Release date was the 5th of October 1962.

PZT tax codes!...Incredibly early pressing.
This tax code is a mixture of the code used up between April the 10th 1962 (ZT) and the code after that, used until Nov the 26th 1962 (PT)
1/O   1/G  Mothers/Stampers

Incredibly early pressing here-with side 1 being the 1st Mother to be used and the 5th stamper-roughly meaning this is one of the first 1500 for side 1...But side 2 is 1/G...Meaning this is one of the first 300 pressed-you cannot get any earlier than that!

It also has the incredibly eraly PZT tax code stamped into the run-out grooves of BOTH sides.

The Vinyl:
Flat as the day she was born.
There are only light marks to the vinyl...I gave her a gentle vaccum clean and then played both sides of her and am very happy to report the audio was lovely and rich.
Certainly no skips, jumps or sticks.
There is a very small amount of light and occasional background noise but nothing which is offensive at all-it reminded me I was playing a piece of history from 1962-where the world of music would be forever changed after this very release.
The audio remians nice and clear.

The Labels:
They are as vibrant now as they were back in 1963 and carry only a handful of very light spindle marks-visible really only when angled towards the light and looking for them.
NO WRITING.

The Sleeve:
It is the correct period Triangles sleeve in EX+ condition.
Even the colours remain vibrant.
It has trhe correct advertising list of other records to be bought back in 1962...It marries together with this very 1st release perfectly.
The singular point of note is a little pen mark to the top left corner to the front-please see the detailed images for yourselves.

SO FOLKS-THIS IS A VERY 1st PRESSING OF A NOW ICONIC SINGLE.
ON A CLEAN RED PARLOPHONE LABEL & WITH A WONDERFULLY CLEAN AND CORRECT PERIOD SLEEVE TOO.
