Description
Various Artists "Playback 1961" New Trier High School "Playback" cast
(Private pressing, 1961) EX/VG+ (10" EP)
------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a very odd (and unique!) album, a yearbook-style souvenir of the 1961 graduating class of New Trier HS, near Chicago. The disc "(incorporates) the myriad sounds of New Trier into symphonic form," combining insouciant, Kennedy-era school-kid humor with what turns out to be a very challenging, legitimately artsy presentation. This really sounds and feels like a "musique concrete" sound collage, jarring and a bit hallucinatory. It's neat.
This copy is in very good-to-excellent condition, with light wear to the vinyl and a bit of wear to the jacket, including a 3-inch split on the top, and a one-inch split on the bottom. (See pics.) Great artwork!
------------------------------------------------------------------- From a non-smoking household. Postage can be combined - add $1 per additional item.
Offered to US bidders only - international shipping not available.
