WHITE WINE “Overflow” LP RARE Aussie breezy pop 1969 Gus McNeil
White Wine – Overflow LP (orig. Australia Festival STEREO SFL-933576, flipback cover)
Release date: December 1969.
On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original issue of the only album by Sydney-based band, WHITE WINE. There is an interesting and diverse selection of cover versions on this LP including Sergio Mendes, Shango, Checkmates Ltd, Brewer & Shipley, Flying Burrito Brothers, Lee Michaels, PAUL WILLIAMS & ROGER NICHOLS. Check out the YouTube links below!
WHITE WINE was the brainchild of GUS McNEIL who assembled a group of musicians for the purpose of promoting STARWINE, an Australian brand of sparkling wine. The band toured during 1969 and 1970, but like most concept bands folded soon after.

Cover:
front: VG+ beautiful laminated appearance: minor handling wear with ring-wear (inner & outer rim), rubbing & creasing, minimal scuffing along bottom seam, record shop stamp just inside opening.
back: VG++ flipback—matt finish: minor handling wear with ring-wear (mainly outer rim) & spot staining.
Record:
VG+ visual: side 1 – clean overall with a few light surface scuffs only (EX), side 2 – noticeable scuffing in one particular area through tracks 1-7 (VG); audible: side 1 - sounds great despite some underlying surface noise (more noticeable during the quieter moments) (VG++), side 2 – acceptable overall (VG), however some surface noise due to scuffing & occasional (not constant) light clicks as stylus passes over affected area, unfortunately few feint skips at beginning of track 4 (G+), ; labels: light spindle wear, blacked out sample sticker (side 2) (also see label image).
I HAVE ONLY SEEN TWO COPIES OF THIS ALBUM IN 25 YEARS OF COLLECTING. THEREFORE, I WILL LET YOU DECIDE WHAT YOU THINK IT IS WORTH.
