Let It Be----Box Set---
PXS 1

Well folks here's a COMPLETE Let It Be Box
This was the Beatles' 13th and final offical album release. Released on the 8th of May 1970, it reached the number 1 slot just over two weeks later and stayed there for 3 weeks. It was also, sadly, to prompt the Beatles' last live performance on top of the Apple Building in London on the 30th of January 1969.
An interesting little bit about this album is the cover was originally intended to be the cover that was used for the Beatles' compilation in 1973 for their 'Red' and 'Blue' album.
Even though recording for the album was finished by the end of May '69, it wasn't until March 1970, when Phil Spector was brought in, that it finally got to be released.
So, here follows the details of this little beauty:
Catalogue number: PXS 1
Matrix Numbers:
Side 1: YEX 773-2U
Side 2: YEX 774-2U
Mothers & Stampers:
Side 1: 2 O
Side 2: 1 GA (with 2 crossed out)
*LOVELY AND EARLY PRESSING HERE*
Vinyl: EX++! Yep, that good! It has hardly been played at all. With just a couple of the lightest of light faint hairline marks-certainly NOTHING to detract from playback-
Either a light clean or just a rub with an anti-static cloth will reduce or even negate the background noise!!
GORGEOUS
Labels: NMint. Original DARK GREEN 1st pressing labels. Lovely and clean. Barely any hole wear to mention...just a handful of light whispy spindle marks, visible only when angled to the light-really absolutley nothing to worry about at all.
Record Sleeve: EX+. Glorious glossy sheen to both the front and back. Only 2 VERY small cresent (max of 2.5cm) spidering areas to the whole album cover!!! With just 2 or 3 incredibly small finger spiders from the spine!!
THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THIS CLASSIC ALBUM
*Please see my feedback for fair grading*
The corners are NOT bashed or even knocked in any way...SHARP
The spine is superbly clear and flat.
The Apple to the back is RED-showing it to be the very first pressing...If you neede more convincing than the end matricies as well as the Mothers and Stampers! Not often at all you get to see these up for sale!
AND CERTAINLY NOT VERY OFTEN DO THEY COME UP IN THIS WONDERFUL CONDITION.
(One recently sold for over £150 and that was just for this album and not the set!)
Record Inner: NMint-! Original die-cut white inner. No writing...Just a fe creases and 2 little nick to the opening!
"Patent No. 1,125,555,"
"Made In England"
Text to one side.
Gorgeous Example.
STILL BRIGHT WHITE
THE BOX SET IS 100% TRUELY COMPLETE-WITH ORIGINAL PIECES AND NOT LATER REPRODUCTIONS!
Outer Cover: EX. When taking the inner tray out of the outer cover, the cover still keeps it's shape-this is how I have photographed her. Now that's a good solid example! (most I have seen collapse when the inner tray support has been taken away).
UNCRUSHED
To the front the pictures are lovely and clear-gorgeous sheen to the fully laminated outer cover.
Glorious, unfaded pictures with an overall lustre to the laminated outer cover.
Only a couple of very small spiderings with just the one corner that has a very light ding to it.
The back of the outer cover has the credit of..
"Designed By John Kosh Photographs by Ethan A Russell Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Limited (Patents Pending)" to the bottom
***A VERY NICE AND COLLECTABLE COPY***
Inner Tray: VG+. All complete and ORIGINAL! There is some light wear to the flip-over inner, with a small split of 1.5cms to one side only. Some light creasing and some light rubbing to the corners.
Overall a very nice piece and, yes, ORIGINAL-not swapped-out or replaced.
Hard to find these in this condition.
AGAIN-VERY CRITICAL HERE!
Book Housing: VG++/EX-. This incredibly delicate book housing has stood the test of time with a great deal of dignity! There's only one fault and that is a small 1cm tear to one of the corners BUT it does not go all the way through so she is still intact!!!
Lovely Example indeed!
The Book: NMint! Brilliantly shiny cover WITHOUT crescents of spidering!!!
She is still solid, WITHOUT LOOSE PAGES!!
ONCE AGAIN-INCREDIBLY CRITICAL.
Gloriously glossy pictures with all their original color.
NO WRITING
ALL ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE
In this condition this book would sell for anything from £75 upwards!
OVERALL:
An ORIGINAl and Excellently well looked after rare and COMPLETE album. Certainly one for the serious collector.
SIMPLY GORGEOUS-IT IS A HIGH START, BUT SHE IS WORTH IT AND IF SHE DOESN'T SELL I AM QUITE HAPPY TO KEEP HER!
