THE TWO RECORDS ARE HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL ROGER DEAN DESIGNED GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH INTERNALLY PRINTED LYRICS "Printed and made in England by Shorewood Packaging"
COMPLETE WITH THE TWO ORIGINAL PLAIN WHITE DIE-CUT INNER SLEEVES WHICH HAVE THE UK PATENT NUMBER AND "MADE IN ENGLAND" TEXT PRINTED IN GREY
The album's concept, a two-disc, four-piece work of symphonic length and scope (based on the Shastric scriptures, as found in a footnote within Paramahansa Yogananda's book Autobiography of a Yogi), was their most ambitious to date developing stronger prog/jazz rhythms than before (explored later and in more depth on Relayer).
On release it received notably hostile reviews. Gordon Fletcher in Rolling Stone described it as "psychedelic noodling" and Chris Welch in Melody Maker described it as "Brilliant in patches, but often taking far too long to make its various points, and curiously lacking in warmth or personal expression".
Yes fans still remain divided over whether or not this is one of the group's stronger works. Some claim it's far too excessive and obscure, while others see it as one of the band's masterpieces

LABELS: MINT
All four labels are clean and factory-fresh with no spindle markings I can see or indeed any signs of use at all - this set has seen little, if any play
VINYL Visual: NM/NM/NM/EX+
Both records retain their original deep, like new glossy sheen. Sides 1, 2, and 3 are practically unmarked, Side 4 has a couple of superficial hairlines - these have no audio consequence
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Sounds wonderful throughout and my play-check at very loud volume revealed no major audio issues of note - no scratches, clicks or pops, groove-wear or distortion and no surface noise to speak.
A very nice copy indeed and (in my experience) these are surprisingly hard to find
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT++
This sleeve is incredibly prone to wear but this one is a very fine example with none of the common ring wear and rubbing (just some record impression) and crisp, sharp edges and spine (there is no spine text)
