Description
on the capitol records label, catalog # T2553, mono pressing, from 1966. 11 tracks. nothing needs to be said about this one, it's all been said before. this is a 2nd state 'butcher cover' of yesterday & today, the 'V' of ringo's sweater is clearly visible just to the right of the trunk. i wish it were in better condition, but then you would have to pay more for it......a chance to get a copy at a reasonable price. this could be a good candidate for a peel job, as it's already kind of lifting in a few spots.....could end up pretty clean, but that's for the future owner to decide. it's pretty easy to see ringo's sweater in person, harder to capture in a photograph though......you can tell by the 2nd photo though, that this is indeed a paste-over.....the capitol logo is clearly visible underneath. cover is VG-, with quite a few problems, i will attempt to list them all: some sort of stain in lower left corner, a couple creases along top....slightly to the left, rub wear, a bit of ring wear, 1" split in lower right corner, a bit of seam chipping along bottom, more seam chipping along spine, some splitting in upper left corner (both along the top, and spine), has a small tear just below paul, to his right, about 1/2" in length, and some corner wear.....back cover has a date written in pen at top, and some more rub/ring wear, staining in lower right corner, and a 1/2" x 3" tear (does not go down to cardboard of cover).....all in all not the best example of this rare cover, but certainly not the worst that i've ever seen for sale either. vinyl is a JOKE, about the worst condition i've ever seen a record in....seriously, i won't even ship it unless you really want it. email with any questions you may have. please check my other auctions, featuring more great private pressed obscurities in the rock; metal; folk; xian; and pop genres this week, and some mainstream rarities as well.....buy a bunch and save on shipping.
while i strive to keep my ebay sales fun and hassle free, i do have a couple new rules, due to some unfortunate activity from my previous rounds of auctions: both ITALY & FRANCE customers must pay for REGISTERED AIRMAIL shipping, regardless of the final value of the item(s)......no EXCEPTIONS! this starts at $24.00 for one lp. i've avoided this new policy for some time, but in one of my last rounds of auctions i had four charge-backs, so this has become mandatory.....shipping prices are quoted below. also, i do not accept bids from those of you with zero feedback. sorry, no exceptions. thanks in advance for your understanding. as always, i will not end auctions early, please don't even bother to ask.
all records are original pressings unless noted......i do not sell current reissues. please ask any questions early, as i am not always by my computer near the end of auctions. buyer pays shipping, see rates below. all records are shipped in dedicated record mailers, with record shipped outside of cover when applicable, with two cardboard inserts. paypal is the only accepted form of payment at this time.
i have to state that i will ship for $4.00 according to new ebay rules, but i do not like to use media rate, or first class domestic either....both take far too long, and items have sometimes gone missing as well. if you absolutely have to save $3.00 on shipping, then that is what you'll get, media rate for $4.00, including delivery confirmation....to me, as a seller (and a buyer, for that matter) it takes too long, and i end up with too many questions ( 'where is my record?' 'when did you ship it?' etc, etc). i strongly urge you to use priority......you can avoid a heavy box of books being placed on your fragile record, and you'll get it so much faster. i prefer you use priority shipping with the US, and the cost is $7.00, including delivery confirmation. first class airmail shipping to CANADA is also $7.00. first class airmail shipping to MOST OF EUROPE, JAPAN & AUSTRALIA is $14.00. first class airmail & registered shipping is $24.00 worldwide, and is required on all shipments to both ITALY and FRANCE. I DO NOT SHIP to SOUTH AMERICA, MEXICO or ISRAEL at this time, NO EXCEPTIONS. i will gladly combine items to save on shipping, i try not to make ANY money on shipping costs, i typically lose money honestly. payment is expected within 7 days of auction end. thanks for looking, and good luck.
