PCS 7009, original UK 1966 black and yellow Parlophone record labels.

A first issue UK 1966 stereo copy in original condition, featuring:

1. a near impossible to find stereo sleeve made by, ‘E J Day’. Nearly all, 98% !, of the Beatles Revolver stereo sleeves were made by the company, ‘Garrod and Lofthouse’. The company, ‘E J Day’ helped out EMI in the 1960s to manufacture sleeves for Beatle albums. By mid 1960s the company ‘E J Day’ went through management changes, so fewer ‘E J Day’ sleeves were made from this period. The company emerged into 1966 and began once more to manufacture Beatle album sleeves. So while mono Revolver ‘E J Day’ sleeves can be found, it is near impossible to find a stereo, Revolver, ‘E J Day’ sleeve,

2. the record features the earliest matrix of, ‘1 / 1’,

3. the record features the earliest, ‘mothers’, of, ‘1 / 1’,

4. the record on side two features a ‘crossed out mother’, what looks like the number two, this has then been replaced by an engraved ‘number one’,

5. the record label on side two features the spelling of, ‘Doctor Robert’, but on the rear of the sleeve, this track is spelt as, ‘Dr Robert !’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++condition. The front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and all the text is clear to read. The two opening edges have remained clean and sharp for their age. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s ‘tri-flip back’ design, ie fold over edges. A very good solid example of such a RARE sleeve. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period EMI, ‘Patents applied for’ inner sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. A very clean and well preserved inner sleeve for its age. The inner sleeve is made of the period, 1960s quality heavy grade paper with a textured surface on the inside. There are NO tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. There is a slight split to the bottom edge.

THE RECORD: side one is in very good++ condition, side two is in near excellent condition. The record is made of the period 1960s quality thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 605 - 1 and YEX 606 – 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘1 OP’ and ‘1 M’,

THE AUDIO: is excellent++, the records plays with excellent quiet grooves. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full, powerful loud period stereo sound.

THE LABELS: each label is in very good++ condition. Each area of the label around the spindle holes have little, if any, signs of any spindle trails. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, sticker residue or stickers. Each label has some slight age related marks.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
