THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
This EXCELLENT early UK 1st MONO pressing dates from initial June 1967 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text and have 'The Gramophone Co...' rim texts
Earliest possible matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Earliest possible side 2 stamper code: 1/R & 1/G
Vinyl weight: 157g
Housed within an early-type fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover with 9mm 'wide' spine
Complete with its original red & white designer inner-sleeve & unused cut-out sheet

Both are clean & undamaged with a moderate collection of spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
This well-looked-after copy has been handled with respect and care by its single original owner and consequently both playing surfaces are unworn and free from any noticeable surface marks in strong daylight. Closer examination beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals only a few harmless wispy hairlines consistent mostly with inner-sleeve removal and a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
Played with care on quality equipment, this extremely early copy with the superior and original mono mix shines through with just some very minor playwear on the delicate 'She's Leaving Home' only. The entire album is free from any clicks, pops or other such distraction. Hard to find an earlier copy in such good shape.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
This highly respectable example of this short-lived, early-type cover retains a clean unfaded front panel with some light storage rubbing and a single 'thumbnail' being the only significant signs of wear.
There is slight bruising to the corners but all opening edges are sharp and undamaged.
Both panels inside the gatefold are pristine condition
The rear panel is in similar condition to the front and all seams are smooth & unstressed
The spine is square, uncrushed and unbent with a fully laminated unworn text
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with some gentle storage wrinkles but no writing, tears or seam splits.
Cut-out sheet: MINT
