Anyone looking for a great audio copy of 'In Rock' - this might interest ya..>>
I tend to find it hard to source decent playing 1st UK copies of 'In Rock'. Not convinced they did a particularly great job with the audio for starters. But on top of that - many many copies have seen careless heavy use. So, there's lots of copies to chose from - and still a high probability of disappointment. But when I gave this PIONEER copy a spin - wow...this is more like it>>>
An original copy of IN ROCK on JAPAN Warners from c.1975 [4 years after 1st release]. Stamped 'TO'. The vinyl comes housed in an original heavy card gatefold cover [way sturdier than you tend to find elsewhere]. The Obi strip is still present[& UNBROKEN]. We will ship the LP in a poly-bag [not sure if this was original to the release].
Vinyl (Ex) In marvellous condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very lightest marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveal an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A fantastic rendition from this quality Japanese pressing. Hard to find fault. Very little background observable at all. Even the super fussy 'Child In Time' is lovely and quiet. And I would say I really rate the actual audio quality inherent in the pressing too. This copy is much better for audio than 95% of decent UK pressings! Highly recommended!
Cover (Vg+) External surfaces are pretty clean without significant surface wear. The Obi strip is intact all the way round - I doubt they turn up like this often. A bit of edge wear in places - nothing epic. The interior is the only slight let down - there's a bit of discolouratin in places [mostly in upper sectors] The text on the spine is still legible - but a bit of wear apparent. Nice firm openings. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture. Please assume there's nothing untoward hiding beneath the obi. The area under the Obi == exact same standard as you see elsewhere on the cover.
