Description

A 1st press of  MIJ on UK Purple labels. Please note this is not an EMI pressing. Demand was high at 1st release and EMI outsourced some of the production. You can identify these contract pressings easily as they have a depression on the label and "3" stamped at 9 o'clock in the deadwax. EMI or not the audio on these copies is out of this world. For a live performance the audio is astonishing. The actual volume recorded is epic - one of the loudest Lps I've ever had the pleasure to spin. MIJ should be in everyone's collection - period. Absolute 1st press. All the 1/1/1/1's. "Gramophone" present in the perimeter text. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Child-In-Time plays very clean and is by far one of Purple's fussiest numbers. If this plays clean - you are on to a winner! The LP Plays clean throughout in fact - impressively so. One of the best renditions I have witnessed. You can just keep turning the dial and it will go incredibly loud. Final Upgrade!
Cover (Ex-) A lovely clean front and rear with very little sign of deterioration. Edge wear is slight and the openings sharp. The interior looks great no issues. The spine is 100% intact and still very square [which is unusual]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Sweet!
