Description

An original 1st press of 'M.I.J.' from Dec 1972 on the UK Purple label. Matrix 1/1/1/1. Stampers 2-AR/2-H/1-MO/1-MT.  Etching 'Porkie/Peckie etc'. Please note the labels are consistent with very 1st press and still show 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. Also included are the original two generic white inners from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and have only seen the very light of use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, a couple of light trailing marks, and one feelable mark [side 3] which sounds. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is both limited and infrequent in nature. All we detected were a few crackles in the odd isolated moment. The one deviation is caused by a feelable mark [mentioned above] which is right at the start of 'Lazy'. You will experience a few clicks and a few crackles during the intro - which then fades out by the time the 'Louie Louie' organ tease section begins prior to Lazy starting for real. Overall an impressive player with only minor/brief issues. Please note most of the labels appear to have been signed.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. The front looks great with just a couple of creases and a sticker residue mark in the top-right corner. The rear is in similar condition - with just a bit of marking in that top-right corner. The interior looks great with no faults. Edge wear is reasonably light for this title. The text on the spine seems to be pretty much all legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. 
Inners (Vg) Light ageing. Two one inch bottom edge splits. The top one centimetre of each inner seems to have been guillotined off.
