Description

An original 1st press of Layla on UK Polydor. Matrix A1/B2 x2 - the 1st cut. IMPORTANT - flat labels..no ridging. Side 3 mentions publishing 'peter maurice' -- this is very 1st earliest publishing that was changed on ALL later copies. These copies are pressed much heavier. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in the original matt gatefold cover WITHOUT Hype sticker bottom right corner. Super specimen. Likin' it..TWO cool inners which are of CREAM.  . Cool - but the inners are NOT from this release/title....But the rest is GENUINE 1st press...
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light careful use. Beautiful lustre. Take a look at those label shots. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one minor deviation.. Intros and inbetweens are really quiet and the audio comes across with near perfect clarity. A great copy by any measure - the delivery is really clean. This allows you to sit back and marvel at this classic 70's title. A couple of ticks/crackles in 'Looked Away'[literally]. Minimal signs of background. There are some incredibly lowkey slow roll-ins on these tracks. Like on Thorn Tree and I think most copies will slip up even after light to moderate use. You can hear well down into the mix. When you get to those super fussy tracks like I'm Yours'.....it plays great. Very little sign of background... But these super fussy tracks are playing extremely well for the vintage. Can't fault really.
Cover (Ex/Ex-) In really great condition and has survived the years in much better condition than many examples. the rear is practically perfect...which highly unusual. Sharp openings. Minimal edge wear generally - two wear patches at top middle edge [no biggy] and the spine 95% intact. Interior spot on. Extremely tidy example.
Inner (Ex) Superb - remember these are not from 1970.
