Description

An original 1st press of LAYLA on UK Polydor from 1970. Matrix A1/B2-A1/B2 [1st cut]. Earliest copies come with flat labels [not-ridged]. These early copies are well worth going for and were pressed heavier than copies just a few months later. The vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill gatefold cover without any record company logos on the front [the aesthetic is therefore well preserved]. 
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out few light marks per side, one patch of very superficial scuffing - nothing heavy or majorly troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. 'I Am Yours' plays very nice and clean with hardly any background - much better than you typically find. 'Thorn Tree' plays with clean background too. Difficult to find fault in practice. A really impressive example for audio - throughout. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) Lovely clean and flat front with minimal issues - much better than you typically find. The rear is equally good looking with minimal surface wear. The interior looks great with no issues at all. Relatively little edge wear and firm opening. The spine exhibits a touch of wear and has been inked in to tidy it up. I would argue the spine is in much better condition than you typically find. The text is still 100% legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Really Nice.
