Description

An original 1st issue of LAYLA on UK Polydor from 1970 whilst charting. Matrix A1/B2-A1/B2 [1st cut]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill gatefold cover. Note that this cover does not have any silly hype stickers or company logos to spoil the aesthetic. We also have both original inner sleeves. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. 'I Am Yours' plays very nice and clean - much better than you typically find. 'Thorn Tree' plays with clean background. Overall a superb little player. A couple of crackles in one isolated spot per side. One isolated tick in 'I Am Yours' and a couple of clicks midway through 'Highway' Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) Lovely clean and flat without ageing or surface wear that you typically find on this title. A crease over on the right side of the front . The interior looks great - no issues at all. A bit of light edge wear against one of the bottom edges [nothing major]. The spine is much better than you typically find on this title - All text 100% legible and only slightest wear. Sharp firm openings. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Very impressive.
Inners (Vg+) Light ageing. A one inch side split has been taped up. Otherwise - aok.
