RARE Impulse! Recording, A-77, Mono, Gate-Fold Cover

The original mono recording of Trane's lasting masterpiece, "A Love Supreme." Recorded in one session at the Rudy Van Gelder studio, "Supreme" takes on the structure
of a four-part suite, inspired greatly by Coltrane's own personal spiritual revelation. An homage to Coltrane's acknowledgement of a "higher spiritual deity" who had endowed
him with his talents, the record instantiates the legendary saxophonist's passage into the free jazz of his later career. Numbered among Coltrane's "Classic Quartet" performing on the
album are McCoy Tyner, piano; Jimmy Garrison, bass; and Elvin Jones, drums. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder. The vinyl is very clean, in near mint condition. We have listened
all the way through and surface noise is at a low minimum; there are no skips or breaks in the vinyl. Gate-fold cover with devotional poem on liner notes. Cover is in excellent
condition with no markings. This is the DEFINITIVE version of the all-time jazz classic!
