An original and genuine very 1st press of GOLD RUSH on UK Reprise. Matrix A1/B1. Take care with this title - there are a number of things you need to check for on a true 1st press. Let's start with the vinyl - 1st pressings are much heavier pressed [noticeably]. Those tan labels should NOT mention 'Made In UK' - those copies are from '72. They should NOT mention the new K pre-fix cataloguing that was introduced in '72. The original 1970 catalogue number for this title is 'R6383'. You should find this on the labels and on the front of the gatefold cover, and in the interior. ANY mention of the K prefix ANYWHERE means you don't have an original copy. Check your copy - does it say 'printed '72' at the foot of the rear? Well, It's not 1st then. We have the original inner sleeve and the quality paper original lyric poster quoting original cat no 'R6383'. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. 'Gold Rush' is painfully fussy - so if you can find anything around the Ex mark, consistently, you're really onto something. Many decent looking copies often disappoint. Occasionally you get lucky and manage to snag a proper great player - into those hellishly fussy tracks...And this copy is just such an example. Even the fussiest moments play nigh on perfect. A couple of crackles in a couple of spots in Bird - possibly the cleanest I have ever heard this ridiculously fussy track. I cannot recommend highly enough. I'd love to argue that copies like this are ten to the dozen...that would be far from the truth.
Cover (Vg+) Not quite up to the standard of the vinyl but more than respectable. The front is looking smart with just slight surface wear at the foot. The rear looks good to with just slight creasing at the opening. The interior is impeccable very nice. There's a fair bit of edge wear in places - no wear throughs. Opening panel is rigid. The spine exhibits a fair bit of wear - and text is still 80% legibe. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
Lyric Poster (Ex-) Superb - no issues.
