Description
On offer here is the first U.K. stereo pressing of the first album by the Pink Floyd entitled The Piper at the Gates of Dawn NO RESERVE PRICE Columbia original on the blue black label SCX 6157 matrices YAX 3419-1,3420-1 stampers T and T denoting a very early pressing It is pressed on 143g heavyweight vinyl with the Gramophone Rim Text and sold in U.K. statement .Please note that stereo originals are 10 times rarer than mono for this album in my opinion.
SLEEVE
This sleeve is in tip top condition. There is no ring wear. The laminated front sleeve in in perfect condition apart from two laminate creases near the edge, only noticeable on close inspection. There are no flaws in the top and bottom edges and spine and the words THE PINK FLOYED are clearly legible. There is minimal wear to the edge. The rear has a few marks, but only visible on close inspection and I am being ultra fussy here. There is no writing in pen or pencil anywhere. Had file under pop on sleeve Grade a good EX.
LABELS
These are clean an unmarked with only minor spindle wear Grade EX+
DISC
Visually stunning, under normal light the surfaces look perfect. Under a halogen light and magnifying glass the occasional wispy lines can be seen due to sleeve removal, I could only spot three small ones. I am being ultra fussy pointing them out but they are not scratches and do not affect play. There is not groove wear or distortion and the record plays silently. I could not hear any surface noise. The audio performance is vibrant, strong and loud. This is the best I've heard for many years. No dishing or warping. Grade EX+
EMI INNER SLEEVE
Alas, this has been mislaid but these are easy to find as they are used in cheaper albums.
