 A Rare Judy Garland 1939 release of  "OVER THE RAINBOW"  we refer to the song as "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"
78 RPM... 10 inches.... Blue DECCA Records... #2672
With Victor Young and his orchestra
This is the first release of the song and was a studio recording released the same year as the film, "The Wizard of Oz".
This song was released September 1939...and this year 2014 will be the 75th anniversary of the release of the movie and song!
The flip side is "The Jitterbug" a song that was taken out of the final version of the film
the record seems to be in very good shape with a few light marks when the light hits it right on the rainbow side and a few deeper on the jitterbug side. i have no way of playing it so i do not know if the scratches will affect the play.i am selling my fathers record collection and do not know much about grading so please ask any questions before bidding.
