THE JAZZ COURIERS - " IN CONCERT ", Tempo Records (TAP 22) Mono, 1959.

Very rare, 1959, English 1st Mono LP issue of the classic British Jazz album, featuring Tubby Hayes and Ronnie Scott.

Original issue with white-purple Tempo labels and laminated flipback sleeve, etc.
 
English issue and pressing.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been retained and included in the auction - see photo)

In the name of a good auction I'm starting this record at just 99p and i will let the bidders decide it's worth.


CONDITION:

VINYL =  V.G.- (No deep scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, etc. Under a bright grading lamp I can make out quite a few slight surface marks and a few other faint scuffs just visible on the vinyl's surface. Generally, as the record plays, it does suffer pretty consistent surface noise and occasional clicks and crackles throughout. However, as much as they are present, they are not dominant enough to completely ruin the listening experience and a lot of this record is quite busy and often the music obscures these imperfections.

Additionally, when the vinyl is examined under a grading lamp there very faint shadowy areas/mottling visible in the vinyl. These are down to the original pressing though, not wear and do not affect the sound - overall, although being from '59 it's quite a decent slab of vinyl, between it's appearance and slight surface noise I don't think it was pressed to a partricularly high standard in the first place.

Overall, although it is not perfect and I realise this will affect the value, it is by no means ruined by it's minor imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy - perfect copies of this LP exchange hands for a lot of money these days and although this is definitely not one of those museum pieces, it is still a very serviceable copy that would be great for somebody out there to play and enjoy as it was originally intented.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)


SLEEVE = GOOD (I'm afraid this sleeve has seen much better days. Discoloured, with pretty heavy wear to all the edges... in some small areas it goes right through the laminate and print. Also has it's share of creases around the edges. It is at least not torn or defaced and these cosmetic defects can't affect how it plays of course - see photos for further clarification)

LABELS = V.G.- (No serious damage, defacing, etc. But this record has had a lot of plays and does have some prety heavy spindle trails around the centre hole - see photos for more info)
