Title: Smash Hits of 62 (OG mono press)

Visual Grade DISC: VG+ disc that still has its shine but does have a few (inaudible) surface scuffs on both sides, those are only hairline scuffs that DNAP. 

Audible Grade: VG++ disc that sounds great, only faint non-invasive background noise at the worst. Even the breaks between songs are quiet.  

Cover Grade: VG- to a lesser VG. Top seam is intact in the middle but split 2" on the left & right, the spine is intact but some of the text has chipped away, and the bottom seam is 1/2 split but intact in middle. Front cover still has its original color and a little shine even. Back has some fading and a small stain but suitable otherwise. See pictures for visuals to complement these details. 

Additional Notes: Up for set sale or best offer consideration is a rare original mono pressing of the Marvelettes' Smash Hits of '62 LP on Motown Records. This LP was later repressed with a different cover but this true original pressing is mighty rare especially in such nice condition. This 1962 release has the oldest Motown label I've ever seen in person, all things considered this LP has been pretty well taken care of, it still plays wonderfully - 53 years later even. There are some surface scuffs on the disc but they can't be felt and few, if any, can be heard which makes for a great listen. The cover does have some seam splitting as noted above but the face still has its shine so this should be fitting for most. This only turns up once or twice a year folks, buy it now or long hold your peace for what's likely to be an inferior copy.

Grading is as-follows: 

SEALED: A sealed LP which cannot be graded beyond this as there is no guarantee as to the condition of the unopened item. 

NM- As good as it gets for a contact system, practically an untouched record that plays as if it were brand new. 

VG++ A few faint surface marks, nothing that will affect play in any major way, sounds just barely short of brand new. 

VG+ A few more marks than a VG++ record but still sounds plenty clean for listening and/or DJing, your typical used but far from abused copy, no feelable marks, light scuffs only. 

VG Light scuffs and possibly a few light scratches throughout, most can't be felt. Expect surface wear throughout the record with light surface noise and possibly a few pops. Should still serve as a suitable player copy for listening & DJing despite the moderate noise. A slightly above average 45 coming from the field, noticeable noise here and there that's still secondary to the music.

VG- The record may have multiple scratches that will be deep enough to feel. Audible clicks and pops are likely consistent throughout the grooves. Should still play well enough for DJing if you're not a stickler. Expect noticeable noise throughout but NO SKIPS.

G+ A record that has been played and not taken care of. Constant background noise will be present. NO SKIPS but such records are the lowest grade likely to still serve as a cheap filler copy for those in need.
