Description

A genuine 1st mono from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N - 1st cut. Tax Code "MT". Note that absolute 1st press is identifiable by the wide-body chubby font employed on these labels. Labels mention 'Parlophone' and 'recording 1st pub' - indicative of 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover with the Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Jeees Louise - this is one hell of a nice looking copy. You can't really believe this condition is achievable from '64 - but clearly it is. In beautiful condition and has only seen lightest use. Labels look lightly used and the surfaces are like mirrors! I could only make out a couple of slightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Hopefully I shouldn't need to labour the point that this is highly unusual. Intros and inbetweens are super quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. This is a super player and handles upbeat numbers with aplomb and the quiet numbers without much sign of background at all. Given that this copy is close onto the initial masters you will be witnessing a really early copy of this famous title. And you can certainly hear the clarity in these earliest copies. All I could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. Quite frankly - amazing. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Vg+) These '64 covers can end up looking a bit tired by this point in time - but this one is still looking very fine. A lovely clean looking front with just some creasing at the opening. The rear has escaped much of the ageing process - just some grubbiness/evidence at the opening. Text on the spine is looking good - just the 'h' of Night is worn off. A few stress creases, but otherwise aok. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) lightly aged. No splits.
