Description

An original 1st press of AR on UK Apple from '69. Matrix 2/1. These early copies from the sixties are every heavy pressed and sound fab. VERY 1st Pressing with 'NO HER MAJESTY'. The vinyl comes housed in an original fully laminated cover - the Aligned Apple version. With a genuine black Apple inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) A great looking copy and has only seen light use - better than 8 out of 10 copies. A few very slight superficial markings per side - nothing remotely troublesome. But take a close look at those labels...very very few original copies will look like that - I can assure you. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation per side. Very quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Ok, this is no average copy - it is really very accomplished on the audio front. Highly impressive.... I'd love to say lots of copies play like this. That, unfortunately, is not the case. A well preserved 1st pressing has the potential for great things - but many have just seen too much use down the years. BUT occasionally you snag one that has seen unusually light use. And THIS is that copy. Well up there against some of the best copies I've witnessed. Perfect? Not quite...but quite frankly not far off! A copy like this, with very low noise floor, means the listener has the opportunity to listen deep into the mix. Further than most other folks will have heard! Very clean feed - consistently. I picked out a couple of minor crackles in Maxwell - this track still plays awesome. A couple of crackles in 'Sun King' - way way cleaner than usual...this is a mega fussy track. A couple of minor ticks one-third into side 2 - hardly worth mentioning. Struggling to find fault...I am just lovin' listening to it. Why not listen to Here Comes the Sun with perfect clean background. Listen to those opening guitar strikes and the descending tone....absolute magic. This is within the best few copies I've had the pleasure to spin....absolute cracker.
Cover (Vg+) Lovely shiny waxy cover - the 1st copies were high quality. The odd crease in places - some at the opening. But it looks great and feels substantial. Not much edge wear and firm openings. The spine is 99% intact with touch of discolouration in the bottom 1c.m.. The cover still retains excellent rigidity. A really nice example.
Inner (Vg) No splits. A tear at the die-cut opening has been repaired.
