Description
A 1st pressing of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label. Matrix 2/1. Stampers 2-RP/3-AH. Please note this copy does not exhibit the 'Her Majesty' text on the label which singles it out as an original 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection we could make a few light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. The only interference we could detect was a touch of light static in a couple of places on side 2. Only vaguely audible in a couple of the quieter moments and very minor in nature - certainly nothing remotely invasive. This copy plays clean and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why these copies are so sought after.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has been carefully looked after down the years. Nice and shiny with bold vivid colours. The only really vaguely noticeable issue is some wear on the spine and, in one section, it has worn through for 1 inch. Otherwise edge wear is light and overall the cover retains much of its original rigidity.
