Incredibly rare copy of the Capitol Records Club Edition of The Beatles “Help! (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) pressed using a refreshed metal plate with the -1A / -1A matrix stampers featuring the new mastering also used on 8-Track tapes which resulted in the improved audio quality in comparison to the previous issues of the album. Original gatefold stock cover with the commercial copy’s SMAS-2386 catalog number without an “8” suffix. Original Capitol Records lime green purple “Target” logo labels with the unique 1” DECCA Records pressing ring and Record Club Edition’s SMAS-8-2386 catalog number including an “8” suffix. The full matrix numbers featuring DECCA Records, Pinckneyville, IL pressing plant’s “2” identifier in the runout groove on both sides are as follows: Side 1 – SMAS-1-82386-A1 2; Side 2 – SMAS-2-82386-A1 2.

I grade the cover as Excellent. It's very clean and doesn't have any writing or soiling, with just some light occasional age discoloration spots. The back cover has some very light hints of ring wear which is fully absent on the front cover. The gatefold interior is in Near Mint Minus condition with only just some light age discoloration spots along the top. The rigid spine has a fully readable text. The cover doesn't have any splits, missing pieces or sticker residue. The shiny vinyl is in Excellent Minus condition only having some very light scuffs from the original Capitol Records white inner sleeve which is in Near Mint condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The like-new Mint labels are super clean, completely wear-, scuff- or spindle wear-free. The vinyl sounds great with some very light static, which becomes more evident during the quiet passages, and most likely could get reduced or go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
