Description

An original 4th press of PP on UK Parlophone from summer 1963. Matrix 1N/1N - 1st cut. Labels are consistent with 4th press. NO 'sold in the uk' statement and 'recording 1st pub' present. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day cover. There's also an original Emitex inner. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection expect a few light marks per side, and a couple are getting semi-feelable - one does sound on side 2 [see detail]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are nice quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. A super little player and there's not all that much to find fault with. A pretty clean rendition with that bold mono sound the early copies are famed for. Plays relatively clean even into the trickier tracks. A few crackles in one isolated spot per side [e.g. PS I Love You]. A few isolated ticks in 'Baby Its You'. A couple of clicks in 'Honey'.  And an isolated pop right at the end of side 1. But overall, and given the vintage, really very nice and enjoyable.
Cover (Vg+) Nice clean and flat front with just a couple of minor thumbnails. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process. Some blemishes top left. Has been initialled bottom left. A bit of wear to flipbacks, but they are all secure. Expect a bit of edge wear at corners. The spine is pretty much fully intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
