Description
A 1969 One EMI Box pressing on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix -1/-1. Stampers 2-GPA/4-GPH. The record comes housed in an original gatefold cover with exposed flipbacks and the text includes 'patent pending' on the rear suggesting it is from the first run. Also included are the original dark-green cut-outs and the original sepia advertising inner sleeve. 100% complete. 100% original.
Cover (Ex+) Ok, so this one is a real humdinger! It's not often you can use this rating on a vintage record, but this is a very straightforward Ex+. Immaculate shiny front, back and interior. The thing to marvel at here is the sheen - it is mirror like. The quality laminate has protected the cover well and all the colours are vibrant - just like it was produced yesterday. The cover is perfectly rigid with maybe a couple of very slight creases. The spine is 100% intact - in fact there's almost no sign of wear at all. I imagine it would be extremely difficult to better this cover...
Vinyl (Ex) Again, has been looked after with a great deal of care. Rated conservatively at (Ex) and plays from beginning to end, at least, Excellent. There's hardly a mark on either side and the surfaces are shiny like new. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with great depth and resolution. There's very little interference at all - maybe one or two very very feint crackles in the occasional place, but we are talking minimal. You will be treated to a fantastic level of sound production. These one boxers are some of the last tube-cut efforts and are often preferred to first issues for the sheer quality of sound reproduction. Again, it's not easy finding one that's survived like this.....
Inner Sleeve (Ex) No rip or seam splits. Very little ageing at all. A really top example.
Cut-Outs (Ex+) Faultless - no creases at all.
