Description

An original 1969 copy of LIB on UK Decca. Well, we'd all like an UNBOXED1969 copy - but a decent playing UNBOXED copy will cost $$$. If you're keen on clean audio - but don't want to compromise on time-frame...look for a smart playing 1969 boxed copy [simples!]. They were pressed heavy like the unboxed copies and sound absolutely fab. Matrix 2/6. Stampers 1-MN/1-MN [copy from the 1st stamper on this 2/6 cut]. The larger font employed on the 'Unboxed' copies - is still present. Another slight nod to the original design - at the foot of the label the 'The' from 'The Decca Company' resides on the bottom line. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover from 1969. The early copies, like this example, should have had a peep hole to distinguish between mono and stereo. The original bespoke LIB inner IS NOT PRESENT. We will ship in a same period poly-lined Decca inner for maximum protection. Please note there is NO poster.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In really nice condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with slight deviation in a couple of spots. Lovely quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with superb clarity. And you're really going to need it to play clean into those tricky moments... Think ... Love in Vain & Silver. These are the fussiest darn tracks on LIB. If it plays clean, as it does here, you know you're onto a winner. Both play really well with just an occasional slight crackle in 'Love In Vain' [but cleaner than you typically find]. If you need to hear LIB in full effect - take a good look at this one. The only vaguest deviation was a few crackles in the super fussy horn intro to YCGWYW. This bad boy is guaranteed to sound identical to a great UNBOXED copy. No better - no worse. 
Cover (Ex-) Difficult to find in top level condition like this. Many will look a bit tired by this point in time - but this example is looking very nice indeed. Lovely clean and flat front cover - no signs of ageing...barely a crease. The rear has escaped most of the usual signs of wear and ageing - it looks really smart. There is one linear line across the mid-section.. I suspect this occurred during the original printing phase. Edge wear is limited and the openings are still firm and sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner replacement (Ex-) In great condition with bag still present. Very little ageing, just a couple of blemishes one side.
