Here it is folks-the birth of Pink Floyd, with their debut album, released on August the 4th 1967. The very essence of prog rock with Syd Barret at the helm to throw in some more experimental elements too.

The album only reached the No. 6 position in the UK Album chart-so this means there aren't too many of these 1st MONO pressings out there...Their later released stereo counterparts have a much different dynamic arrangement in sections so this really is the true 1st release from The Pink Floyd (later to drop the 'The').

**INCREDIBLY EARLY PRESSING HERE**

The Vinyl:

G+ (visually) Plays VG-

VERY Heavyweight quality 157g vinyl.

There are many visible light marks to the vinyl. I gave her a gentle vacuum clean, followed by an ultrasonic bath, followed finally by a little vacuum to get any of the last 57 years of grime up from the grooves-I then played BOTH sides of the vinyl to see what she sounded like..

I noticed some background crackle throughout, along with the occasional pop -nothing offensive what-so-ever. More evident on Chapter 24 and into Scarecrow, BUT....NOTHING to make her jump, stick or skip and my arm was a very light setting too..I found the audio still produced a full of force psychadelic cacophony and dynamic throughout-it really was FAR OUT man!

However, it is not a copy for a picky audiophile...This baby has been played and enjoyed and still plays through today, with crackle, but with enjoyable results too :)

The Labels:

VG+

Wonderful 1st pressing labels with the BLUE COLUMBIA bold and bright to the centre.

"The Gramophone..."rim text and Sold In The UK statement-showing this to be the very 1st pressing (if the incredibly early Mothers/Stampers and matrix numbers hadn't already given this away).

Just a handful of very light spindle marks-only visible when angled towards the light and looking for them.

Bold KT tax code to side 1.

NO WRITING

NO STICKERS (But outline evidence of a sticker to side 1)-please see the detailed images for yourselves.

It carries the typo of the missing full stop/period at the end of the title of track 5, side 1:

“POW R. TOC H”

Remains very displayable.

The Sleeve:

Wonderful strong sleeve-also very displayable as it has kept the vibrant colour and only has a handful of light spidering lines to the front laminate.

It does have File Under Popular to the back top right flipback-which are in great shape, but there is a repair to the top left corner of the back flipback, which has left a small split to the seam, but not noticeable when looking at her face-on....So would be great framed!

Clearly legible title to the incredibly strong spine.

VERY DISPLAYABLE.

The Inner:

Magical ORIGINAL PERIOD BLACK & WHITE EMI advertising inner in stunning condition-free from splts, tears or writing. All I marked her down for was some light water marks to one corner, which really is only visible from one side.

It has the earliest "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" statement to the bottom of one side.

TOP NOTCH

SO FOLKS-HERE IS A VERY 1ST PRESSING OF AN ICONIC ALBUM...ALL COMPLETE AND ORIGINAL AND STILL SOUNDS GREAT TOO=ALBEIT WITH SOME CRACKLE AND POPS.
