Description

An original 1st issue of Transformer on the RCA label from 1972. Matrix 1E/2E. This 1st issue copy would have been available for purchase whilst Transformer charted - please not the label is flat without ridging. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Clout & Baker cover. Also included is the original RCA inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It really is a great rendition and will knock the spots of later pressings. Very little interference at all..it's a very clean player to be sure. The only deviation is caused by a mark 'Walk On The Wild side'. During the track a tiny mark cause a few clicks. A relatively brief aberration and if you can put up with it the remainder of the LP will thoroughly impress. Transformer is chock full of classic songs and this 1st issue copy does each and ever one full justice.
Cover (Ex-) A lovely example of this early 70's Clout & Baker cover. Very nice and clean and not exhibiting the usual heavy wear that you often find. A couple of light creases front and back, but nothing worse. Edge wear is light and the spine is mostly intact with just a couple of stress creases. All text on the spine is all still legible. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) No splits. Minimal ageing.
