Description

An original 1st press of AR on the UK Apple able from 1969. Matrix 2/1 - very 1st cut. Please note that genuine 1st pressings must make no reference to "Her Majesty" against the track 'The End'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is a generic white company inner from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only see relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, and one feelable mark - which thankfully barely even seems to register. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT with just a couple of deviations. By and large a very sweet player with not all that much to complain at. Needless to say when an AR 1st press is "on song" nothing else is going to get close - they just sound awesome. Interference is both minor and infrequent. Expect a few crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. The only deviations are a very slight skip in 'Oh Darling'..it's one of those ones that happens so quickly you'd have to concentrate, or you'll miss it. No vocal is missed..you effectively lose a pause that should have been there.. so no words, thankfully, are lost. The second area where it dips below the given grading is in 'Come Together' I'm getting a few crackles here and there in the track. Not invasive..it just won't play as clean as the rest of the LP. If you can handle those two issues the rest of the LP will knock-you-out..
Cover (Ex) Wow, this cover is most certainly a looker. Lovely and shiny without the heavy creasing and laminate lift that you often find. There's two thumbnail creases on the front and one on the rear. Edge wear is very slight and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains an impressive example.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and a touch of foxing. No splits though.
