Description
A 1st pressing of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label. Matrix 2/1. Please note this copy does not exhibit the 'Her Majesty' text on the label which singles it out as an original 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with the misaligned Apple logo. It is thought that these are amongst the first covers printed.
Vinyl (Vg+) In nice condition despite having seen moderate use. Under close inspection there are a few marks - more noticeable on Side 1 [So, do not expect a mint looking record]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a VERYGOOD+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with very good clarity. Please expect a bit of light crackle in places, but nothing that you'd call invasive. A great original copy...
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has been carefully looked after down the years. Nice and shiny with bold vivid colours. The only really vaguely noticeable issue is the odd crease here and there - nothing obtrusive though. Edge wear is light and the text on the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains much of its original rigidity. A superb example of that harder to find misaligned cover.
