Description

An original 1st press of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label. Matrix 2/1. Please note that the labels make no reference to "Her Majesty" and this is indicative of absolute 1st press. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is an original white Apple inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has seen only light use. Under close inspection we can make out a few light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio quality from these early copies, as you can imagine, is dreamy to say the least!  Even the low-key tracks on side 2 play clean..nice! Interference is both minor and infrequent. All I can detect were a couple of clicks in the closing seconds of 'Come Together'. A pop in the gap/interval between track 3&4. And then just a touch of static creeping into the audio as side 1 closes out. In total - very little at all, and certainly nothing which remotely spoils this rather impressive rendition of Abbey Road.
Cover (Ex-) The front looks really nice with all colours fresh and vibrant and just a bit of creasing down in the bottom right corner. The rear is in similar form with just a couple of thumbnail creases at the opening. Edge wear is very light for this title. The text on the spine is all legible, and pretty much all intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and is a really super example.
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing. No splits.
