1968 VERVE UK MONO LP VLP 9223 IN GATEFOLD LAMINATED FLIPBACK COVER**

Very rare – apparently, it never got issued in mono in the USA. The UK mono LP features a completely different mix to the stereo version. As far as I know it has been unavailable, officially, in the mono format since 1968.
Cover:.Excellent. This is the original flipback mono VLP 9223 gatefold sleeve. A great example with shiny lamination, and thick, wide spine (no wear, slightly crookedly creased as it was when bought new). Outer cover has faint ring marking, a little wear on the gloss and a few small spots where laminate has lifted slightly (shows up with flash on photos). The inside of the cover is white and thus shows a little ring marking and dark edge to laminate foldover. There are no tears, writing or seam splits. Original plain white "Patent Number" inner sleeve in v.g. condition.
The Record: Excellent. The record is in great shape. Still retains some of original gloss. Numerous small, light scratches can be seen on the surface and some small, light smears. But when played the sound quality is superb throughout, with only very occasional surface noise. The mono mix is wonderful, clear and sharp.
The Labels....Both labels are in excellent condition. There are no tears, stickers or writing. These are the original black Verve labels, with the "Sold in the UK" text that was dropped shortly after the release of this LP.
